How do I know if I will be happy with the book?
We will email you an electronic copy of your book first. When you are happy with that, we then send you a hard proof copy. At this stage you can check for accuracy and if needed, make any reasonable changes before the print run commences.
How long does it take to print the books?
The printing will take 4 to 6 weeks from when the hard copy proof is approved.
How many volunteer hours are needed?
The Coordinator will need to volunteer a minimum of approximately 2 to 4 hours of time depending on the size of your school. Innovation and creativity will obviously add time to the project but will also be more rewarding.
Can our school include children’s photos?
You may include photos but privacy laws make it a little complicated. It becomes the responsibility of the school to obtain parental consent for every child whose photo is included in the book. If you wish to include photos we will send your principal a legal document explaining that Schoolyard Stories accepts no responsibility for parental consent or problems arising from published photos. This will need to be signed by your principal and returned to Schoolyard Stories before the printing process can proceed.
Are there any hidden costs?
The quotes we provide you with include postage and handling as well all materials in your publishing kit. A $100.00 deposit will be required upon acceptance of the quote so that we may send you the publishing kit. This deposit will be deducted from the final invoice. 50% of the total price is due at scanning stage, with balance due on delivery of proof. A 5% discount will be given to Storybook customers who choose an electronic publishing kit.
What sort of Quality am I getting?
A sample book will be sent to you so you know exactly what you are getting. The book will be perfect bound with an artboard, full colour, glossy cover (240gsm). The interior of the book will be printed in black, on white paper (80gsm). All paper is sourced from renewable forests new and recycled. Our books are all made in Australia by Australian owned printers.
